PACC Entry Requirements

Our courses are split into 2 main areas:

a. 4 Years Undergraduate Programmes – Indirect Entry:

Applying for any of our Undergraduate Degrees, HNC/D courses will typically require to have GCSE (or its equivalent) passes in 5 subjects at Grade C or above including English Language and Mathematics, (some courses require GCSE passes in other specified subjects, so do check the specific course for details).

b. 3 Years Undergraduate Programmes – Direct Entry:

Applying for any of our Direct Entry Undergraduate Degrees will typically require the qualifications mentioned in a) above and in addition to qualifications achieved at level comparable to GCE ‘A’ level or BTEC National.

c. 18 Months Top-Up Undergraduate Programmes:

Students with recognised HND qualifications and experience in the relevant subject areas may be eligible for our 18 months Top-Up Undergraduate Programmes leading to B.A. / B.Ed. / B.Sc. Students are advised to contact our Admission Tutors.

If you have the potential to succeed in your chosen programme, we will consider your application on its individual merits.

d. No Formal Qualifications – Foundation Programmes:

If you do not have the formal qualifications described above, but have the ability and ambition to study a degree or diploma then our Foundation Programmes could be for you. Successful completion of this programme guarantees you a place on most relevant courses offered by P-ACC so you can further your studies with us.

We also consider applications from those who have gained relevant skills through a wide range of vocational qualifications or responsible work experience. You should describe your relevant skills and qualities in your application forms. For some courses, you may be asked to take an entry test in Mathematics and/or English.

Our Admission Tutors will decide whether they can offer you a place from reading your application or whether they would like to find out more about you by inviting you to attend an interview.

Our postgraduates can be access via different routes. While most applicants normally require a first degree (usually at least a 2:2) or a Higher National Diploma in a relevant subject and a minimum of three years post-qualification experience in relevant subject,

We do appreciate that many people have a wealth of valuable skills and knowledge developed at work or through training. We assess this prior learning and take it into account when judging whether a student should be exempted from certain course units. If you have the potential to succeed in a postgraduate or post-experience study, we will consider your application on its individual merits.

Our Admission Tutors are looking for motivated and committed students. It is desirable that our postgraduate students have achieved good standards in mathematics or numeracy, communication and information Technulogy. You will need to demonstrate a good knowledge and interest in the subject areas you are applying for.

Typical programme duration for our Postgraduate programmes is one (1) year for Full-Time students and two (2) years for those studying Part-Time.

a. Undergraduate Degree Programmes: Our Undergraduate Degree Programmes are designed to provide a thorough knowledge and understanding of the taught programme. It develops our students’ abilities, problem sulving skills and their practical learning.

Typical programme duration for our Full-Time Undergraduate programmes is three (3) years for direct entry students and four (4) years for student with O/Level qualifications and those entering through our foundation programmes.

b. HNCs / HNDs Programmes: Higher National Certificates / Diplomas (HNCs/HNDs) are designed purposely to provide a skill/career based qualification. These vocational qualifications also provide a route unto our Degree Programmes.

Typical programme duration for our Full-Time Diploma programmes is two (2) years for direct entry students and three (3) years for student with O/Level qualifications and those entering through our foundation programmes.

c. Foundation Programmes:   Our Foundation Programmes fullow two streams, depending on your intended field of study. The first is the Arts and Business while the other is Science and Technulogy stream.

These programmes include a year of study that ensures students have underpinning knowledge and skills before they progress onto more specialist studies in the later years of the course.
It is an ideal entry route for students with few, or no, formal qualifications who are returning to education.  It is also a good option for students who do not have the required subjects/grades at ‘A’ Level (or equivalent) to be able to progress onto our Degree programme.

All schoul leavers without the appropriate subjects at Level 3 would also be suitable for these courses in order to fullow their chosen Degree programme.

Typical programme duration for our Foundation programmes is one (1) year Full-Time.
